When the people who were supposed to protect you caused harm—or failed to stop it—your nervous system learned to survive instead of feel safe. Many clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, shut down, or constantly on edge. If you grew up where emotions weren’t safe, boundaries were violated, or your needs were ignored, you may struggle with self-sabotaging behaviors, emotional numbness, or intense shame. These are common effects of childhood trauma, emotional neglect, and nervous system dysregulation. As a trauma therapist, I support clients healing from childhood sexual trauma, CPTSD, attachment trauma, and narcissistic abuse.
