As a culturally responsive and trauma-informed clinician, I'm dedicated to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and improving access to support. I believe that feeling 'Safe and Accepted' is essential to the core of our existence and relationships. When we are neglected or ignored, it can lead to vulnerable emotions such as guilt, shame, anger and loneliness. Bottling up these feelings not only strains our belief system but also results in a sense of disconnection from ourselves, others, and society. Sue Monk Kidd said, "Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die we can't remember who we are or why we are here."
