You have spent your life learning how to translate yourself. Not just language, but emotion, expectation, and the unspoken rules of every room you were never quite sure you belonged in. You are capable, thoughtful, and by most measures, doing well. And you are carrying something that a holiday, a promotion, or another act of self-improvement has not been able to touch. Many of the people I work with grew up between cultures; bicultural, immigrant-descendant, third-culture, or expat. They learned early to code-switch, to make others comfortable, to be the bridge. They are fluent in multiple worlds and fully claimed by none.
