Life is full of challenges, and by overcoming these challenges we can learn, grow, and discover things about ourselves, others, and the world around us. Sometimes though, these challenges become too much to handle. Perhaps we’ve experienced a loss, a major change, or a trauma, something that has taken away the sense of control over our lives and we find ourselves stuck and overwhelmed, no longer able to learn from life’s challenges, but feeling helpless to overcome them. For many of us, this sense of overwhelm leads to symptoms of depression and anxiety.
