People come to therapy wanting less: less dread upon waking, fewer racing thoughts at night, less of that sinking feeling that they’re in trouble, less constant tension. It makes sense, especially if you’ve often heard, “Relax,” “Don’t be so sensitive,” “Have you tried this?” or “You’re overthinking.” Repeated messages like these can make it easy to wonder if your experience, or you, are too much.
